On the first day of this calendar year (2015), we began the implementation of the project "Women in the Labor Market - Gender Impact Assessment".
The goal of the project is to strengthen the role and impact of advocacy activities of non-governmental organizations aimed at improving the overall transparency, openness and good management of Croatian public administration in the field of gender equality. Special emphasis will be placed on those public policies that contribute to enabling a positive environment for women on the labor market.
The entire program is financed by the European Union with strategic support and monitoring by the Central Agency for Financing and Contracting of Programmes and Projects of the European Union (CAFC) and is co-financed by the Office for Cooperation with NGOs of the Government of the Republic of Croatia. Project activities will be implemented in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Science from Zagreb, the Vukovar Institute for Peace Research and Education (VIMIO) and the non-governmental organization Legalina from Gračac. In addition, a significant role in the implementation of the project is also played by institutional actors of local government - the City of Zagreb and Zadar County.
With the help of public policy experts, a research and analytical approach will be used to ensure the relevance of the data that will be obtained over the next 24 months of the project. An important segment in the implementation of the project is also the evaluation of the effectiveness of policies implemented so far that have an impact on the position of women in the labor market, primarily at the local level. Good faith will encourage proactivity in improving the position of women in the labor market. Through examples of good practice, the goal is to strengthen gender equality in the socio-legal context. Relevant local stakeholders will be joined by local coalitions, and during joint meetings, qualitative indicators will be determined that will contribute to the implementation of strategic and operational action plans and positive reports on the assessment of gender inclusion ex post.
The entire process will be covered by the media, with the help of printed and electronic media, but also by creating a special website with detailed descriptions of the activities and results of the project. With a documentary film and radio broadcasts, we will bring the issues we deal with to a wider audience.
Within the framework of the aforementioned deliberative methods of democracy, this project will consolidate democratic values through a society of equality and equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender diversity. Accordingly, the necessity of a scientific and humanistic approach in assessing the current state and creating solutions to system irregularities is imposed.
